Science for kids

By Jasmine Mari

Science has been the most interesting subject among all other subjects in school. No wonder children and adults show a lot of interest in science. Nevertheless, science is also one of the most complicated subjects in school, whether it is in elementary, high school, college or university.

Since childhood, I have been interested in science in general. I even asked my mother to send me to a science specialist school when I was eight years old. I originally wanted to become a medical doctor because of my fascination to science but, unfortunately, due to the lack of financial resources of my family, I had to change my dreams.

I become a science teacher to adorable elementary students instead. Although being a teacher is so far from being a medical doctor, I have learned to love my profession. I said to myself that I might inspire these tiny little learners to become scientists, astronauts, doctors, nurses and even a science teacher like myself in the future.

Most of the time, students come to me to ask when are they going to have their next class in the laboratory. They often ask what will be their activity afterwards and they cannot wait to know about it. Of course, I keep it a secret from them before the class to make them feel more enthusiastic. I make them feel wonder and speculate what will be the next activity. That will keep their fascination to the subject.

Being the science teacher in Unikids School gives me the privilege to become a part of the students’ future. Although it gets tough sometimes, the thought of being a significant influence to these students gives me the enthusiasm to fulfill my job as the science teacher. I can feel the joy when I see the excitement in their eyes as they conduct the activities and experiments we do in the science laboratory.

Indeed science is the most amazing and marvelous phenomenon in the world because it can be perceived every time and everywhere. It is not only in the science laboratory where we can experience science. Science occurs around the school campus, at home, in the streets, at work and all the places around us. Furthermore, not only the students experience science in their life but adults and professionals as well. I look forward to giving more incredible and awesome activities and experiments to the UK school students to keep them loving science more and become scientists and useful citizens in the future.
